Dr. Khairiyah Mohd-Yusof is the Director of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Centre for Engineering Education (CEE), which promotes meaningful research and scholarly practices in engineering education.  She is the President for the Society of Engineering Education Malaysia (SEEM), executive committee for the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES), and board member for the International Research in Engineering Education Network (REEN) and the Indo-Universal Collaboration on Engineering Education (IUCEE).

A practitioner of student centered teaching and learning approaches, she has conducted numerous teaching and learning workshops at institutions of higher learning, colleges and schools throughout Malaysia.  At the international level, she has been an invited speaker in various engineering education conferences and workshops in several countries in Asia, Australia, Europe and North America.  Her engineering education research focuses on innovative teaching and learning practices, curriculum design, faculty development, talent pipeline and Engineering Education for Sustainable Development.  Currently, Dr. Khairiyah is on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Engineering Education, the ASEAN Journal of Engineering Education, the IChemE Journal of Education for Chemical Engineers, European Journal of Engineering Education and the Journal of PBL in Higher Education.

She has won several awards for her work in engineering education, including the 2015 Frank Morton Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) Global Award for Chemical Engineering Education Excellence, the Best of the Best Award at the 2014 Innovative Practices in Higher Education Exposition, the 2013 IChemE Malaysia Award for Education and Training, and the Best Paper Award at the 2011 IEEE Global Engineering Education Conference in Amman, Jordan.
