Dr. Ramiro Jordan is a scientist, innovator, educator, and entrepreneur. He is a member of the faculty of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of New Mexico. He served as an Undergraduate Chair of ECE and Associate Dean of Engineering – Global Initiatives. His research activities include sustainability, Peace Engineering, smart grids, cognitive radio, multidimensional signal processing, and software development. He is the founder of the Ibero-American Consortium for Science and Technology Education (ISTEC, Inc.), established in December 1990, a successful non-profit organization created with the mission of accelerating STEM education, technological, socio-economic development, R&D, and entrepreneurship in Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula. He is the past president of the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES), from November 2018 to 2020. He is a founding member of the Peace Engineering Consortium, the outcome of the first global conference on Peace Engineering, held at WEEF-GEDC in November 2018, in Albuquerque, NM.
He has received many national and international Honors and Awards including two Silver Quilt Awards, Motorola; International Excellence Award, University of New Mexico; Growing with Technology Award, Cisco Systems; Professional Progress Award, Kansas State University; Award for Contributions in Higher Education and Science and Technology, Organization of American States; Achievement Award for Innovations and Accomplishments in Multilingual IT Infrastructure in Engineering Education, iNEER-ICEE; and Award for Meritorious Work in Engineering and Computer Education, International Conference on Engineering and Computer Education. He is bestowed with the Order of Rio Branco, in the rank of Officer, by the Brazilian Government.

Dr. Tania Cristina D’Agostini Bueno is a Brazilian researcher, consultant, and technology leader specializing in Knowledge Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and interdisciplinary innovation. She is the President and CEO of the Institute for Electronic Government and Intelligence and Systems (i3G). She is also the Director of Technology at MR Predictions S.A. and the founder and Vice President of the CIIDDI Network, which promotes interdisciplinary collaboration between law and information technology.
Dr. Bueno has held leadership roles in various organizations. She served as the First Vice President and Treasurer of the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES) from 2017 to 2019 and currently holds the position of Vice President for Global Engagement & Inclusion. Dr. Bueno holds a Ph.D. and a Master’s degree in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, completed in 2005 and 1999, respectively. She also completed a specialization in Software Engineering with UML at SENAI/CTAI in Florianópolis.
Her contributions have been recognized internationally, including nominations to “Who’s Who in Science and Engineering 2008–2009” and “Who’s Who in the World 2007” for her work in information technology and research management.
