ESTIEM (European Students of Industrial Engineering and Management) is the leading network connecting students who combine technological knowledge with management skills across Europe. Founded in 1990, ESTIEM is a voluntary, non-profit, non-governmental, and apolitical student organization, run by students for students. It unites 76 Local Groups in 26 countries, promoting international collaboration and educational development in the field of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM).
ESTIEM’s mission is to connect and support the growth and sustainability of local IEM student associations, fostering collaboration, cultural exchange, and the development of personal and professional skills. Each year, more 1,500 students participate in ESTIEM’s 180+ annual events across Europe These include academic seminars, leadership trainings, case competitions, cultural programs and business-related events.
Fran López Soler currently serves as the Vice President of Education of the 35th Board of ESTIEM (European Students of Industrial Engineering and Management) for the 2024–2025 academic year. In this role, he is responsible for promoting the academic and professional development of students across ESTIEM’s network, which connects 76 universities in 26 European countries.
He is enrolled in a Master’s in Industry 4.0 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Cartagena, Spain. His interests lie in emerging technologies and their practical application in industry. Fran has a strong background in student representation and is passionate about improving education through local, national, and international initiatives. He has also been actively involved in founding and developing student associations.
Marta Correia is the Vice President of Education of the 36th Board of ESTIEM (European Students of Industrial Engineering and Management) for the 2025/2026 mandate. In this role, she is responsible for promoting the academic and professional development of students across ESTIEM’s network, which connects 76 universities in 26 European countries.
She currently holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the University of Minho, Portugal, with a special interest in quality engineering and operations research.
Marta has three years of experience in student leadership at the local level, having served as the Local Responsible of LG Minho and as Vice President of Corporate Relations. She has also worked as a junior consultant in quality management at a Junior Enterprise. Her background includes student representation, team management and international collaboration within multidisciplinary environments.
