Towards Global Engineering through Peace Engineering Based on Disruptive Microelectronics

Disruptive Microelectronics is one of excellent case studies of disruptive technologies (or disruptive innovation) which is defined as an innovation that helps create a new market and value network, and eventually goes on to disrupt an existing market and value network (over a few years or decades), displacing an earlier technology [Christensen, 1995]. Peace Engineering is a trans-disciplinary program that emphasizes innovation and creativity, while stressing the importance of the application of science to solving practical problems that will contribute to social justice and sustainable social, economic, and environmental solutions. In addition to mathematics and the hard sciences, Peace Engineering encompasses the fields of Financial Engineering, Social Engineering, Cultural Engineering, and Infrastructure Engineering, among others. Global Engineering is addressing essential skills for engineers from any country to be competitive in an international market for engineering know-how.
