Siemens has been a longtime IFEES Corporate Partner and supporter of IFEES values and vision. Their Global Opportunities in PLM (Project Lifecycle Management) program aims to challenge and grow future business leaders in science, technology, engineering and math to groom and develop the next generation of excellent engineers, and has supported US universities and provided more than 10,250 students access to technical certification.
In 2012, Siemens signed a long-term MOU with the Education Management Information Center of the People’s Republic of China Ministry of Education (MOE). The MOU established cooperation between the two parties to support the National Computer-Aided Technology Certification Project (CAXc Project) aimed at cultivating innovative engineering technology talent and enhancing career competitive advantages for China’s university and secondary vocational school students. As of September 2013, twelve universities throughout China are receiving in-kind software grants from Siemens PLM Software in an effort to advance the teaching of design and manufacturing management while cultivating high-quality talents in the region. The in-kind grants have a commercial value of more than $700 million and include the Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology, Dongguan University of Technology, Lanzhou University of Technology, Lanzhou University, Nanchang University, Ningxia University, Shandong Jiaotong University, Shenyang City University, Tianjin University of Technology and Education, Yuncheng University, Southwest University and Qinghai University.
