IFEES member the European
Society for Engineering Education (SEFI)
will be holding its 2nd
Deans' Conference, entitled Special Challenges in
Engineering Education, in Berlin, Germany from February
24 - 26. The forum, sponsored by IFEES
and the European
Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE),
will focus mainly on the best practices in overcoming the
challenges faces in adopting the Bologna Process. The meeting
will include discussion on the following issues: quality assurance
education at engineering education institutions, internationally
acknowledged accreditation, global perspectives provided under
the umbrella of IFEES, motivation of first year students,
best practices in engineering curricula. The conference is
especially designed for rectors, deans and colleagues responsible
for engineering curricula. On behalf of IFEES, Dean Seeram
Ramakrishna of Singapore as well as other IFEES representatives
will be presenting on the proposed formation of an IFEES Global
Deans Council.

The abstract submission date is September 17, 2007. Please
limit your abstract to one-page (A4 paper size), and include
the title of the presentation, a listing of all the authors
and co-authors, and their contact information, including email
address. Please email this abstract to Dr. Jorg Steinbach
at VP1@tu-berlin.de.
Authors will be notified about the acceptance of their papers
on November 12, 2007, and the submission deadline for complete
papers is February 4, 2007.
