In a technology-based world, the need for engineers who create it and manage it is unquestionable. Also the shortage of engineers and technologists worldwide makes that demand for such professionals is not covered.
To change that trend and increase the number of students majoring in technology programs, it has been fostered some minorities’ access to university. In the case of Argentina, the most important minority among engineering students is that of women.
This paper analyzes the various factors that influence the choice, continuation and dropout of female technological students. The study is carried out in Engineering Faculty from national public University. The study showed that main motivations in decision-making obey to social, economical and academic factors.
