La Acreditación de las carreras de Ingeniería como Mecanismo de Confianza ante la Mercantilización de la Educación Superior

The growing demand for engineering graduates is an undeniable fact that compels to ensure academic quality, especially if it is consider that in the current global context is latent the danger that in an effort to meet demand quality will be impaired.
Opposite to the progressive process of internationalization of higher education institutions in this paper will be study the role of the State as the agent upon which rests the responsibility of maintaining the balance between market freedom, university autonomy and the education quality provided in engineering studies.
Likewise it will be analyzed if the university accreditation process of the engineering careers, it is a suitable and appropriate tool to be used for this purpose, with the aim to show whether an accredited studies generates the confidence that the future student requires about the education quality.
