Ensayo de accionamientos eléctricos a través de un laboratorio virtual

Engineering education has relied in the development of the theoretical foundations as outlined by the teachers in the classroom and laboratory practices. Nowadays due to the widespread development in the field of ICT there is a new teaching methodology through of the use of simulation environments for reproduce laboratory test (Virtual Laboratory – VL). This paper proposes to use the MATLAB software environment for experimentation to verify the behavior of an electric drive in the class “Electrical Drives and Controls.” The technical characteristics of the drive are exported from commercial software free of selection of motors used in industry. As a result of their experience, the students demonstrated a greater willingness to solving real engineering problems, motivated primarily by the ability to design and test their own solutions.
