The spacing between the curricular practices in the social education of engineers and social demands of the surroundings deepens the breaches that separate the academic advances of the necessities of the most vulnerable sectors of the society.
The Research Group in Engineering Education EDUCING based in the analyses of the Colombian case of the expansion of offersand degrees in engineering versus development indicators in areas of special sensitivity to the quality of life of society, propose to consider in the engineering curriculum guidelines for a model supported in projects of interest to society.
This perspective demands a thorough review of the teaching commitments and institutional statements to support a proposal to place learning in real spaces conducive to engineering education in environments that favor the interdisciplinary work, identifying real problems and the formulation of social projects helpful
