Desarrollo y actualización profesional basado en las TIC’s

Academic programs for professional specializations are designed to deepen and broaden the knowledge and skills required by professional practice. The Faculty of Engineering of the UNAM founded the Unified Program for Engineering Specializations (PUEI), which can complement and strengthen graduate studies at UNAM to meet the needs of development, improvement and training of engineers. The program promotes links with other higher education institutions offering curricula with the same level and academic area, as well as the private sector, government sector and technical societies and associations.
The academic program Specialization in Automatic Control and Instrumentation in Industrial Processes in distance mode, is aimed at continuing professional development of engineers in a specific disciplinary field, through the proper and efficient use of information technologies (ICTs). It addresses the various aspects of the problems associated with the control and instrumentation in industrial processes, with emphasis on the generation of energy through collaborative work, participation in forums to share knowledge and experience of professionals, which involves critical thinking, participation and teamwork.
This article presents the experiences to achieve the proposed specialization, considering not only the academic and management, but the impact is seen in terms of diversity of participants and training approaches of engineers to meet the challenges that society demands of this century.
