Competencias en Ingeniería. Medición de la Eficacia Institucional

Modern society understands that as a college graduate to be competent (with competencies), able to practice in the reality that surrounds him. The competencies level of its graduates is an indicator of the quality of academic education at universities. Universities (and society) need to know how effective they are inn providing their professional with skills. So, it is necessary to measure institutional effectiveness in training; that is, measuring the degree of achievement of competencies expected, by the graduates. This paper presents the first experience of measuring institutional effectiveness in the training of engineers conducted in Argentina. The paper presents the rationale and theoretical framework, objectives, competencies sought, project outline and justification of research, aspects that can contribute to other universities in developing their own research. It also presents some results.
