Dr. Christina White completed her doctoral degree from Columbia University where she studied humanitarian engineering education. Dr. White is currently a postdoctoral research associate with the Singapore MIT Alliance for Technology and Research where she is exploring global competencies and 21st century skills in engineering education. Dr. White is the Global Chair for the National Academy of Engineering Grand Challenges Scholars Program (GCSP) and is the IFEES representative for the GCSP. She works with universities around the world to design their own Grand Challenges Scholars Programs. Much of her interests are in developing humanitarian, design-based curriculum and entrepreneurial opportunities with Grand Challenges. Dr. White serves as a mentor in an incubator for student-based startup companies and hopes to continue to help universities encourage engineering as an engine for economic growth.
Dr. White has a deep commitment to engaging in critical dialogue about engineering education from diverse perspectives. She believes the IFEES forum provides avenues to make positive changes in engineering education because it is a platform to prompt research, collaboration, and participation of universities and industry based on the critical dialogue and action plans developed by this international community of thought leaders.
