- First Vice-President - Maria Larrondo-Petrie, Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions (LACCEI)
- The Engineering for the Americas (EftA) organization was completely restructuredto position it to facilitate implementation of initiatives and collaboration with governments in the region, and the IFEES President and First Vice President were made officers of theExecutive Advisory Committee. Planning of the 2010 IFEES Americas Regional Summit started,itmay be located jointly withan OAS meeting the last quarter of 2010, most probably in September. Collaboration and review of the resources of the 2008 IUCEE Faculty Leadership Institute is underway to explore how to best adapt to the Americas Region. Students in the region are organizing to participate in the 2010 IFEES Summit and to develop student leadership training. Two papers, oneon the outcomes of the 2008 IFEES Global Engineering Education Summit and the other on the IFEES Indo-US Collaboration of Engineering Education (IUCEE), will be presented at the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) Conference in June.
